Our Story

A Studio Born
from Belief

Designology was founded in 2019 in Mumbai by husband-and-wife principal architects Hamza Singaporewala and Arwa Khumushi — not just as a design practice, but as a declaration of what architecture and interiors should be.

"Every space holds a story. Our work is to find it, shape it, and give it a form that endures."

We saw too many projects where design became the afterthought — buried under budget negotiations and contractor chaos. We built Designology to flip that: to put purposeful design first and build a rigorous, client-centred system around it.

From our studio at Ratan House, Fort — in the heart of Mumbai — we work across residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and entertainment sectors. From a kitchen in Peddar Road to a coastal penthouse in Alibaug, every project receives the same obsessive attention to detail and transparent communication.

Hamza Singaporewala

Principal Architect & Founder

Hamza leads Designology's architectural vision and project delivery, bringing a rare combination of spatial rigour and material intelligence to every brief. His approach is defined by a deep respect for context whether a compact urban apartment in Bandra or a coastal home in Alibaug.

With experience spanning residential architecture, commercial interiors, and turnkey project management, Hamza oversees the studio's end-to-end design and execution process ensuring that creative vision and technical precision move in step, always.

Principal Architect & Co-founder

Arwa is the creative compass of Designology — the designer who translates a client's unspoken aspirations into spaces that feel both deliberate and deeply personal. Her design language is rooted in calm, clarity, and material sensitivity.

Arwa leads concept design, material curation, and interior detailing across the studio's residential, retail, and hospitality projects. Her meticulous attention to finish, proportion, and light ensures that every Designology interior earns its place in the lives of the people who inhabit it.

We believe the spaces people inhabit every day have a profound effect on how they feel, how they work, and how they live. That belief is not a tagline — it is the principle that drives every decision we make at Designology.

Too often in the Indian design and construction industry, design is treated as an aesthetic layer applied at the end. We do the opposite. Design is our starting point, our north star, and the lens through which every budget decision, material choice, and execution milestone is made.

This is what it means to practice architecture and interior design with intent — not with trends, not with templates, but with deep listening, thoughtful craft, and respect for the people who will live and work in the spaces we create.
